1)  That I am not a statistic.   I’ve seen many of my colleagues STILL [...]]]> It was 2 years ago that I got my pink slip. Laid off in the worst economy ever.  My department eliminated because the company was “too diversified” and wanted to refocus on its “core competencies”.

This Thanksgiving, I’m thankful…

1)  That I am not a statistic.   I’ve seen many of my colleagues STILL out of work and others start/fail or struggle with small business ownership.

2) I’m extremely thankful that I didn’t have to go back to a JOB. I’m thankful to have written my own success story. I created a new life for myself and my family, one I didn’t know HOW I was going to create. I just got up each day with a dogged determination that if others could do it-so could I-and I was going to figure out how to do it for me.

During the past two years, I’ve worked with clients of all shapes and sizes including:

•    Helping Christina start her own Virtual Assistant business while staying at home with a baby
•    Providing strategic guidance to Zappy as he worked to get his “Make Money with Domain Buying/Selling” system sold on infomercials and change the lives of thousands of lives by providing a blueprint for how to make money with virtual real estate
•    Supporting Mandy in overcoming technology challenges and adapting her coaching practice to incorporate online lead generation instead of relying solely on offline methods.
•    Supporting Andrew and Eileen as they sought to grow the Miami Chapter of Glazer-Kennedy Insider’s Circle faster than they ever thought possible
•    Inspiring Sharon to develop her own social media marketing plan for the Art Fest Fort Myers
•    Taking 10 small business owners businesses to new heights with my High Altitude Marketing Academy program

And that’s just a tiny fraction, there are so many more stories to share.

3) I’m thankful for the ability to do hard work. Not manual labor but intellectual hard work.  Every moment of everyday it takes work to juggle all the balls and keep them all spinning in the air.  Since I’m a student of Dan Kennedy & Joe Vitale, I fully support and believe in taking MASSIVE INSPIRED ACTION.

4) I’m thankful to practice what I preach. Everything I tell people to do, I’ve done first myself.  I’ve mired through the muck and confusion and overwhelm everyone small business owner has and considered it a challenge to overcome and a privilege and honor to share my successes.

5) I’m thankful to my coaches and mentors.  Like Rev. Anne, whom I’m sure you’ve heard me mention. We’re kind of co-coaches.  She helps me breakthrough my unconscious roadblocks (who knew there would be so many!) and tune into my intuition (have you checked out her new coaching program? It’s killer!) and I’ve introduced her to the whole big world of information and internet marketing, .

6) I’m thankful for business friends who hold me accountable to stepping into the incredible power I’ve been holding back.  Thanks Rob, Alex, Andrew, Eileen, Vince, and Dave.  Because I’m accountable to them, you’re going to see a lot more from me starting now.  I’m back to embracing my entire depth of knowledge in the lead generation and direct response marketing industry as well as previous experience strategically building small businesses.

7) I’m thankful for YOU. (yes I was saving the best for last ) My very first tweet, blog post status update email newsletter was read by just my pomeranian Penelope (check her out on Facebook) and a few of my close friends but now I can say I actually have Fans (Shout out to Lanie for introducing Bill to me! Another shout to Barbara & Eleanor for all the Facebook ‘likes’) who make each post, tweet, and offering something special I share with you. Thank you for your loyalty and your time.
