I’m going to go back to the basics here and answer the question “What is a Facebook Fan Page?”
According to Facebook Fan Pages are for a local business, a brand, product or organization, an artist band or other public figure. So what does that really mean? Glad you asked.
I’d recommend that any local business set up a Fan Page so that they can communicate with their local patrons.
If you are a speaker, consultant, author or coach you should also be sure to set up a Fan Page for your ‘brand’.
Independent professionals like hair stylists, yoga instructors, and Pilates instructors should also set up Fan Pages for their “brands”. (This is especially useful if they end up switching studios or salons and they’d like to continue communicating with their favorite clients)
You can also set up Fan Pages for your products, services and often times websites.
Since February 2010, a Facebook Fan Page has a lot of the same features as a Facebook profile for an individual. You can allow fans to post comments on a wall area. You can add photos, videos and even feed your blog or Twitter updates directly into your Fan Page. Plus there a a lot of other really neat features that you can use to engage, entertain and excite fans.
