Last night I went and socialized with a new group of people from the Social Media Club South Florida. The main event was a case study presentation of how Starmark International launched a social media campaign for Nova Southeastern University. Here are the key takeaways from the meeting.
Key #1 from Murray Izenwasser, Director of Client Strategy for Starmark International Interactive Services-Photobucket is the better application in terms of getting your picture tags indexed in Google faster. This was over Flickr and Picasa.
Key#2 from Murray-Build from your base…then launch to public. In terms of building and utilizing social media, introduce it to your current clients first and get them engaged THEN roll out to target population.
Key#3 from Murray-Social Media isn’t easy. After they launched their social media campaign for Nova Southeastern University they have a document with 262 items that are to be completed on a daily, weekly, monthly basis to maintain the momentum of social media.
